Jewellery (also spelled jewelry, see spelling differences) is a personal ornament, such as a necklace, ring, or bracelet, made from jewels, precious metals or other substance.
The word jewellery is derived from the word jewel, which was anglicised from the Old French “jouel” in around the 13th century. Further tracing leads back to the Latin word “jocale”, meaning plaything. Jewellery is one of the oldest forms of body adornment; recently found 100,000 year-old Nassarius shells that were made into beads are thought to be the oldest known jewellery.
Special occasions provide the typical opportunity to shower a husband, son, brother or friend with something from a men’s platinum jewelry selection. Father’s Day, Christmas, birthdays and weddings are perhaps the most common times to purchase gifts which provide pleasure as well as functionality. A watch, for instance, is something that any man needs to keep his daily schedule in order.
The wedding bands and engagement rings you choose will be one of the most enduring pieces of your wedding day. Not only are they an important element of becoming married, but they are also a longlasting symbol of your love and commitment. Therefore, you’ll want to choose jewelry that is timeless and high quality. Ultimately, you’ll also want to be an educated consumer who knows what you’re getting for your dollar.
Many couples choose the metal for their bands by matching it to their engagement ring. However, don’t feel bound to this. A bride can choose to wear her engagement ring on her right hand, and wedding ring on the left. Also, each of you can wear a similar style in different metals. Consider which metals each of you wear regularly - is most of her jewelry silver? Is his watch gold?
